Director of The Whisky Academy Anne Gigney is pleased to announce transition from running hands on start up courses, to online courses through The Distillers Institute.
Anne had been running face to face courses for aspiring distillers from 2015 through to the end of 2019 and in 2020 handed over the running of the Foundations course to Drinkmakers Australia – a Tasmanian company associated with the New Norfolk Distillery.
“The transition to online training, specifically in relation to helping businesses plan and get going was a logical one. There is still an important role for hands-on courses like those run by Drinkmakers Australia and we’re pleased that we were able to hand the course over to a crew with hands on distilling experience.”
“The Distillers Institute has been 18 months in the making. We trialled a short course in 2018 and then spent 2019 creating the course with our partners Troy Trewin, Brett Steel and Ian Thorn. The course Planning Your Successful Australian Distillery is the outcome of the course and a brilliant way for people to start their new career, Anne explained.
People who have enquiries about the hands on course are encouraged to visit Drinkmakers directly. If people are interested to work through the details of planning and starting their business, then please visit The Distillers Institute.
